"I am a Communications Officer for a Union local. I am using PhoneHerald as a phone tree to contact the membership for meetings and events. Prior to PhoneHerald, we had a number of people manning phone tree, to call a base of about 200 people. With PhoneHerald, I can run the entire tree on my own with two call-outs (each lasting about 1+ hours on a single line) to cover AM and PM shifts. This has increased meeting and event attendance considerably. So, in general, PhoneHerald has been a great tool for our Union, by increasing member-involvement, and minimizing our workload. Thanks to PhoneHerald Broadcast Dialer she can now easily poll all the girls
in her school about who is the cutest new teacher, or which boy kissed which
girl, or who is smoking what, or whatever it is they talk to each other
about, and her phone time is significantly reduced. Her friends apparently
find it novel, and I think it is teaching her some valuable organizational
and marketing skills at an impressionable age.
I would estimate that she is now on the phone only about 30% as often as she
used to be, on the computer doing e-mail about 1/4 as often, and already her
school work and our family experience have improved, quite happily, for the
reduction.
