Call Status
- My calls appear with the status “Error.” What does this mean?
“Error” could mean a number of reasons the call did not go through - no dialtone, line disconnected, etc. To find out the reason for the error:
- click on the running job in the left column in PhoneHerald
- select the call with an error on the right
- click the Info button to reveal the Info drawer for that call
- choose Attempts from the popup and you will see a list of the calling attempts for that call. Selecting each one will display the reason for the call status, including errors that may occur
- My calls appear with the status “Truncated” in PhoneHerald. What does this mean?
If your calling job is set to expect caller choices, but the caller has not made a choice (or you have not provided choices), the call will appear truncated. If you do not require choices, set the Script to “No choices offered”
If your calling job has Answering Machine Compatibility Mode activated, and the caller has hung up during the preliminary answering machine announcement, the call will appear as truncated.
Miscellaneous
- Can Time Machine be used to automatically back up my Parliant database?
No. Your Parliant database contains many files that need to remain in sync with each other. Time Machine was developed to backup single files and not multi-file databases.
However, if you make a backup by choosing the Backup command in the File menu, it will archive the database to a single file that can be safely backed up with Time Machine.
- How do I uninstall Parliant software?
An uninstaller application is located in the Extras folder on your CD or in the disk image downloaded from Parliant's site.
- I have more than one phone line — will PhoneHerald work on all my lines?
You can purchase additional PhoneHerald packages to work on more than one
phone line. Parliant provides a $100 discount on additional lines of
PhoneHerald used on the same Mac. PhoneHerald can accommodate simultaneous
calling on several lines using a single Mac to help you get your calling
tasks completed quickly.
You may need to purchase an AC adapter-powered USB hub if you
run out of USB ports on your Mac.
